God had convinced us. We were to adopt and now. He had directed us to a tiny girl, undernourished, abandoned at birth with multiple disabilities and malformations, brain damaged who needed a lot of help to live. He kept her alive in an orphanage an ocean away from us, who didn't envision doing anything so hard as making her a part of our family and loving her. But He led us to her and prompted us to move as quickly as the fragile nature of her state demanded.
So, after being fairly certain that I had finally located an agency to complete our home-study, the weekend descended. That Saturday morning, while contemplating contacting the home-study agency on Monday, I cried out to the Lord, fervently..."Lord, you have called us to this. Please don't let Your name be shamed by our inability to go forward." We had no money to proceed with the adoption beyond the willingness.
Within 40 minutes, I had a phone call about an adoption fund that had been started for her adoption some months prior by the young lady through whom we learned of our little one's existence. This was a fund that I didn't know about. The money in that fund was just over 1/3 of the money necessary to complete the home-study. In addition to that, another couple donated exactly the rest of the money needed within 48 hours of that prayer. This was all from people that I have never met and all without them knowing the amount we needed for this step in the adoption.
God used this to set the stage for the continuing miraculous process that is bringing her home. It helps me to remember His swift response to my plea whenever I get discouraged. He is doing this great thing!
