Lost documents, the second time...Ministry can't give consent for court without the documents.
Judge's husband in the hospital...stable on our day of court?
Our daughter appearing to worsen in her seizure activity...we can't seem to communicate with the medical staff.
All of us fighting discouragement, even the children...Need a heavenly perspective.
What's at Stake:
Court date Friday, Aug. 10 at 11 am. Father and Mother to be determined. Our little girl's position to remain an orphan or forever be placed in our family.
The Good Things:
Our facilitator asking us to pray, telling us she is praying herself, telling us that God loves our daughter...
We think we may have discovered why the seizures are worsening, drug interaction/reaction...
Discouragement gives us chances to gather the children and share that things are happening in the heavenlies that we can't see with our natural eyes, remember Elijah and his servant?
2 Kings 6: 15 And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” 16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
The Battle:
God planned adoption, wanting us to care for the orphans and widows in their distress but He Himself modeled it first.
John 14:18 "I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you"
Jesus loves adoption, He was adopted here on earth.
Psalm 68:5-6
5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.
6 God sets the lonely in families,[a]
he leads out the prisoners with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
and it is a clear picture of what He has done through dying on the cross, giving His life to redeem us! Our heavenly Father now calls us His children and we call Him Abba, Father!
But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His son into your hearts, crying out "Abba, Father!". Therefore, you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Ephesians 4:4-7.
Something that God loves so much, Satan, His enemy will hate.
It is no surprise then that we should be experiencing trouble this week. If you doubt this, google Satan hates adoption. The stories are compelling.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
Here is a quote from http://steppinheavenward.blogspot.com/2007/05/ephesians-612.html
"Spiritual Attack and adoption. Here is a topic I don't see addressed too often, but I know personally that Satan hates adoption. Satan hates children, and Satan hates children being brought into families where they can prosper and grow. He would much rather have them ALONE where they are easy prey . The Bible tells us 1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” Jim recently preached a sermon on this verse and he shared something I did not know. The lion attacks the lone animal. His victim is the one who has strayed from the herd. How cowardly."
Ephesians 6:13-19
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel.
The Peace:
But we are not without our defense. He, Jesus, is our peace.
He must have an awesome plan for His gospel and His glory or Satan would not try so hard to thwart it.
No matter what the outcome, God is in control and the victory is His!
Why so downcast, O my soul? Put your hope in God. Psalm 42:11
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:17-18
We are only righteous because He has made us righteous through the blood of Jesus, His Son.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3
