Apparently I had one detail wrong yesterday. The appointment with the Embassy official is tomorrow, where she will meet Katia in the car. The doctor appointment did happen today though, and thank the Lord she got approval to travel! Yay!
No time to celebrate though, as we now are on a mission to book her ticket to travel home. Should be easy enough you might think, but advice from our travel agent and the embassy official is that we should advise the airlines of Katia's conditions and accoutrements before boarding the plane. Someone told us that the last thing you want to do is present the airline staff with a problem (or perceived problem) prior to takeoff. So, we are contacting the airlines now with a full list of her conditions and necessary equipment and doctor's notes of explanation. Worst case scenario is that we have to have a doctor travel with us (and pay for his ticket plus $500). I pray it wont come to that. The travel agent says it really depends on the staff on the airplane, and they may deny boarding. In contrast, Heather was saying today that there is nothing that will stop her from being on that plane if God wills it. (I love that woman!)
So, after tomorrow's meeting at the embassy(Lord willing), we will have the visa for Katia to travel. We will be making these arrangements for the airlines and packing up our things and beginning our good byes to friends here. Health wise, Katia is now off the antibiotics, as well as the steroid to "calm things down", so please pray that they get good rest, and that we have favor in these remaining plans before leaving.
Blessings to you all.
Isaiah 40:31New King James Version (NKJV)
31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
